Name: Native American Astronomy Night
Date: November 17, 2016
Time: 5:00 PM - 5:00 PM CST
Event Description:

City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park and Cultural Center and the Emerald Coast Science Center are partnering to present Native American Astronomy Night. Using the Emerald Coast Science Center’s inflatable planetarium, the program will explore the Native American view on the stars and planets. Every culture has cast stories into the sky to explain the patterns and pictures of the stars and the first inhabitants of the Americas were no different.
Learn the basics of astronomy and then hear the stories that people told to explain the stars, the Milky Way, and the constellations. The program will be given by educators from both Heritage Park and Cultural Center and the Emerald Coast Science Center.

Our mobile planetarium allows us to convert our exhibit hall into an exploration of the night sky. Guests sit on cushions on the floor of the plantarium to view the show.

Shows begin at 5, 6 and 7 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.

Seating is limited and very popular. We encourage purchasing your tickets in advance, please call 850-664-1261 or stop by the Science Center to purchase your tickets.
