Event Description:
The Fort Walton Beach Woman’s Club announced its 2nd Annual Festival of Trees ~ Holiday Tree Trek event, combining the holiday spirit with community engagement while raising funds for scholarships.
- Running December 1-17, the “Magic Around Every Corner” festival invites area businesses to create branded holiday tree displays between 5-7 feet tall within their stores. This year businesses may do window displays as well.
Participating businesses will compete for several distinctions, including the Mayor’s Choice Award, the Downtown Business Association Award, the Woman’s Club President’s Award, and the People’s Choice Award. This year each award will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. Also included in the awards are Favorite Handmade Ornaments, Favorite Traditional Decorations and Favorite Business Theme. Again, each category will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Displays will be visible from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily or individual store hours, with businesses encouraged to maintain their displays through January 1, 2026.
New this year is the use of a QR code to download the Holiday Tree Trek Cards which has a link for directions and hours for each business, as well as a QR code to vote for the People’s Choice Awards. The QR codes are located on the posters in every participating business, in Get the Coast and on the Fort Walton Beach Woman’s Club Facebook page.
Those who visit all the businesses listed on Tree Trek Card 1 OR 2, take selfies with each tree and submit to Get the Coast will have their names entered 5x in the random drawing for prizes.
For those who complete Tree Trek Card 1 AND 2, their names will be entered 15x in the random drawing for prizes.

The entry donations support the Woman’s Club’s scholarship program for high school senior girls. Last year, the organization provided $4,000 in scholarships and hopes to increase that amount.
- The club also funds nine local Title I schools through its Safe, Secure, and Successful (S3) program, providing essential items like clothing, food, supplies, and housing for students in need and The Shell Grants which supports other needy, non-profit organizations.
Founded by Liza Jackson in 1921 with 26 charter members, the Woman’s Club has been serving the community for over a century. The organization’s legacy includes establishing the city’s first public library and continues to support various community initiatives.
